Glen Eugene “Rosie” Rosenberger,
age 93, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Cisne
Rehabilitation & Healthcare. He was born June 2,
1931, in Fairfield, the son of John Troy and Florence (Elliot) Rosenberger. He
was united in marriage to Audra Mae Cooper on February 18, 1951, in Fairfield,
and together they shared 65 wedding anniversaries until her passing on January
26, 2017. Glen had worked for
Airtex and Morton Buildings in Fairfield, as well as Burgess Norton in Geneva,
and later retired from General Mills in St. Charles. He enjoyed spending time outdoors
- whether fishing, hunting, or simply mowing the yard. A talented woodworker,
Glen often built things for his family, crafting each piece with love and care.
Beagles held a special place in Glen’s heart, and he especially cherished the
time spent taking walks with his dog, Reba. Known for his quick wit and zest
for storytelling, Glen had a way of making people laugh and smile. He had a
genuine love for people and was always willing to lend a hand. Above all, his
deepest devotion was to his family and friends. He is survived by his
children: Mike Rosenberger (Marlena Hearn) of Barnhill, Ronnie (Deb)
Rosenberger of Flora, and Mary Ann (Mike) Brown of Louisville; daughter-in-law:
Donna Dennison of St. Charles; 8 grandchildren: Michelle Lee DeRaedt, Brandi
Lane DeRaedt (Sean), Cory Glen (Kristi) Rosenberger, Lauren Rae (Lucas) Webb,
Courtney Ann (Fred) Monnahan, Travis Lee Rosenberger (Destinee), Randi Allison
(Michael) Brantner, and Samantha Ann (Chad) Tolliver; 14 great-grandchildren; 2
sisters: Joyce Felty of Clay City and Marie Dallman of Geneva; a
brother-in-law: Charlie King of Flora; a sister-in-law: Marjorie Ellen Gray
Barnett of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his parents; a son: Randall Eugene Rosenberger; a daughter: Glenda Mae
DeRaedt and her husband Al; a great-grandson: Cole Randall Rosenberger; 2
brothers: Harvey Lee Rosenberger and John Robert Rosenberger; father and
mother-in-law: Richard and Ola Mae Cooper; 4 brothers-in-law: Charles Felty,
Clark Dallman, Richard (Ruth) Cooper, and John Barnett Sr.; 4 sisters-in-law:
Lillian Marie Pyles, Bettie Jo (Forest “Chub”) Scott, Mary J. King, Patsy Ann (Kenneth)
Hord. A funeral ceremony will
be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Frank & Bright Funeral
Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. A visitation will
be held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are
suggested to the Cisne Rehabilitation & Healthcare Activity Fund, and these
