OUTSTANDING RACES 4/4/25 Clay
County Clerk Amy Britton reports that there are still 3 races from Tuesdays
election that are too close to call because of mail in ballots and ballots cast
in Wayne and Richland Counties. In
the Clay City School Board race between incumbent Mistey Lindeman and Loranda
Banker only 62 votes separate the two. The school board allows 3 people from
each township to be on the board so there was no race between Dusty Thompson
and Erin Boyd, because they are from the same township and there are two open
positions in that township. So, both will serve on the board. The
Hoosier Township Trustee race is also too close to call. Four will be elected
and before the provisional, vote by mail, and absentee votes are counted Josh
Schnepper had 82, Darin Quinn 71, Tony Groves 67, Jim Fleener 58 and Darla
Murphy with 51 votes. The
other race that is too close to call is the Clay City Trustee race. Tuesday
nights results show Kevin Hery with 178, Eric Stanley with 163, Larry Harvel
with 158, Maverick French with 122, Dwight Hancock with 114, and Loranda Banker
with 69. Four are to be elected in that race. Britton
will certify the election and its results on April 15th after the
mail is delivered to make sure any mail in ballots with the proper post mark
get counted.
