CENTRAILIA MAN ARRESTED

4/7/25

On Sunday, March 30th at approximately 4:39 PM officers of the Flora Police Department responded to the Wal Mart parking lot for a report of a theft of a 2018 Honda Motorcycle.  The victim met with the suspect, later identified as Zackary Stedelin, to test drive the motorcycle.  Stedelin left the parking lot with the motorcycle and never returned.

On Monday, March 31st officers received information of a possible location of the stolen motorcycle from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.  The Flora Police Department followed up on the information and worked with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to locate the stolen motorcycle.  The motorcycle was recovered by investigators from the Marion County Sheriff Office and Flora Police Department in rural Marion County.

The Clay County State’s Attorney obtained a warrant for Stedelin on a charge of Theft, a Class 3 Felony, and he was later apprehended by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday.  Stedelin is currently incarcerated at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.  The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
