CENTRAILIA MAN ARRESTED 4/7/25 On
Sunday, March 30th at approximately 4:39 PM officers of the Flora
Police Department responded to the Wal Mart parking lot for a report of a theft
of a 2018 Honda Motorcycle. The victim met with the suspect, later identified
as Zackary Stedelin, to test drive the motorcycle. Stedelin left the parking
lot with the motorcycle and never returned. On
Monday, March 31st officers received information of a possible
location of the stolen motorcycle from the Washington County Sheriff’s
Department. The Flora Police Department followed up on the information and
worked with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to locate the stolen
motorcycle. The motorcycle was recovered by investigators from the Marion
County Sheriff Office and Flora Police Department in rural Marion County. The
Clay County State’s Attorney obtained a warrant for Stedelin on a charge of
Theft, a Class 3 Felony, and he was later apprehended by the Washington County
Sheriff’s Department on Thursday. Stedelin is currently incarcerated at the
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. The charge is merely an accusation and
the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
