GEFF GRADE SCHOOL 4/8/25 The
Geff Grade School was evacuated early Monday morning when a smoke alarm sounded
at about 9:30. The
Fairfield Rural Fire Department responded to the alarm and found a heating
element overheated on a water heater and began to smoke. Students
evacuated the building upon hearing the alarm and relocated to the neighboring
church while the inspection was taking place according to our protocols. The
school was cleared by the firefighters and students returned to their
classrooms about 30 minutes after the alarm.
