EASTERN ILLINOIS FOODBANK COMING 4/8/25 The
Eastern Illinois Foodbank will be in Clay County on Monday, April 14th
to distribute food to area families facing food insecurity. Those attending
are asked to bring boxes or bags to transport their food in. The
Foodmobile will be at the Band Stand on Front Street in Xenia from 9 to 9:30
am. Then the Foodmobile will move to Flora’s Rotary Park from 10 to
11am. The Foodmobile then moves to Clay City and will set up at the lot
at 500 South Main from 11:30 to Noon. Finally, the Foodmobile will move
to the Louisville Baseball Field where they will be distributing food from 1
until 1:45 pm. Those
planning to attend should pre-register at www.EIFclient.com, although doing so
does not guarantee a place in line. There are some income guidelines. The
distribution is part of the Foodbank’s Foodmobile Program, a system of mobile
food pantries designed to help bring nutritious food to rural or underserved
areas. The
Clay County Ministerial Alliance food pantry is open every Monday from 9 to 11
am, at 1101 Austin Avenue in Flora.
