CROP PROGRESS AND CONDITION 4/9/25 The
first weekly crop progress and condition report of the season shows one percent
of soybeans planted as of Sunday, compared to 2% last year. The USDA says no
corn has been planted yet. According
to the USDA there were 1.7 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending April
6th. Statewide, the average temperature was 47.2 degrees, 0.1
degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 3.39 inches, 2.71 inches above normal.
Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1% very short, 11% short, 54% adequate, and 34%
surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 1% very short, 31% short, 45% adequate,
and 23% surplus. Soybeans
planted reached 1%. Winter wheat condition was rated 2% poor, 35% fair, 55%
good, and 8% excellent.
