FCC LINEMAN RODEO 4/10/25 On
Saturday, the Frontier Community College Lineman Rodeo will take place starting
at 9 am. The event will give an opportunity for the Electrical Distribution
Systems (EDS) students to showcase what they have learned through friendly
competition. Judged events include, egg climb, fuse swap, hurt man
rescue, speed climb, and underslung-switch open & close. Attending
the event is a great chance for anyone interested in the EDS program to see
things firsthand and to ask questions and learn more. Frontier Community
College combines classroom lectures with extensive outdoor training to prepare
you for wire maintenance, hurt man rescue, cross arm construction, and
more. Competition times will be displayed on a leaderboard for
participants and spectators to track results throughout the event. The
rodeo will take place outside just north of the Workforce Development Center,
so, bring your lawn chair. In
preparation for the Lineman Rodeo, first-year Graphic Arts & Design
students, under the instruction of Cheryl Harl, designed and presented t-shirt
logo concepts for judging. Amanda
Burkett’s design was selected as the winner and the t shirts and food will be
available at the rodeo. This
year’s event is made possible with support from Wayne-White Electric
Cooperative, Les McCormick Trucking, and Tallman Equipment Co., Inc. For
