DRUG TAKE BACK DAY 4/14/25 The
Clay County Hospital will be the drop off location for the Clay County
prescription drug take-back initiative on Saturday, April 26th from
10 am to 1 pm. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to
provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription
drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of
medications. Unused
medications in the home are a source of drug abuse in millions of homes, 80% of
US waterways show traces of common medication; and 56% of teens think that
prescription drugs are easier to get than illicit drugs. The
Drug Take Back Day will provide a safe and trusted method of disposal of
prescription drugs. The
drug take back event on Saturday, April 26th is sponsored by the
Coalition Against Drug Abuse of Clay County in cooperation with the Clay County
Sheriff’s Office, Flora Police Department, Clay County Hospital, Clay County
Solid Waste Committee, Clay County Health Department, and Clay County Probation.
