FLORA SCHOOL BOARD 4/15/25 The
Flora School Board met in regular session last night. The
board approved the tentative amended 2024-2025 budget and set June 16th
during the regular Board meeting as the date and time for the budget hearing.
They also approved SIJHSAA Membership, IESA membership both for the 2025-2026, handbook
changes for the 2025-2026 school year as presented, and participation in
Federal and State grants including Pre-K for 2025-2026. The
Board employed Ben Carril as junior high guidance counselor, Jamie Eagan as
English Language Arts teacher at Floyd Henson Junior High School, Jessica
Crawford as head high school girls’ basketball coach, Eliza Herdes as the
junior high cheerleading coach, and Terah Waterman as elementary special
education teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. And
they also approved the resignation submitted by Jeffrey Gaither as Fresh/Soph
basketball coach, and the intent to retire submitted by Janet Winka at the end
of the 2024-2025 school year, and the intent to retire submitted by Susan
Fleener at the completion of the 2028-2029 school year. In other personnel
matters the board approved the request for unpaid medical leave submitted
Lauren Lehman from March 28, 2025 through the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
