PEDESTRIAN INJURED 4/17/25 Tuesday
afternoon a person walking in front of the H and R Block building in Salem was injured
when a car struck the building. Salem
Police say 78-year-old Alice Mabrey was pulling into the parking lot when she accidentally
accelerated, hitting a woman walking near the building, crashing into a portion
of the wall between the window and door. The impact caused the bottom part of
the wall to buckle and caused damage to the bathroom inside that portion of the
building. 67-year-old
Debra Nix of Salem reportedly had crawled out from underneath Mabrey’s car
before police arrived. Both Mabry and Nix were transported to Salem Township
Hospital for treatment. Police
say that since the crash occurred on private property, no citations were
issued.
